Home Sweet Home

Ryan and Kyra came home this afternoon. We want to thank all the Doctors and Nurses at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital that cared for the twins. It was very comforting to know that a responsible and professional staff had the lives of our children in their hands. They made our job easier for the last 12 days. They all did a wonderful job and we will never forget them. So far so good tonight, everything going well, however, we are waiting for Nana and Poppa to return from vacation to "help!" Stay tuned, more to come soon........................

We Are Home!

We arrived home today and soon fell asleep in our new pack n play. Our puppy dog Macy greeted us with a kiss at the door. What a nice house we have! Can't wait to meet all of our friends and family! Thanks to Isabel Salmons for the nice hats she knitted. They fit just right. We will post more photos soon when we both have our eyes open at the same time! Posted by Picasa

One More Night

Our last night in the hospital was Monday, November 28. Mom and Dad stayed the night in a room with the twins for a "test run." Everything went perfect. Posted by Picasa

Good Night Everyone!

Thanks for checking in on us. We are doing great. We should be home sometime this week. We are eating alot and trying to put on weight. Ryan now weighs 4 lbs. 9 3/4 oz. Kyra weighs 3 lbs. 15 1/4 oz. Both lost a little weight since birth, but that is normal. We will see you all soon! Posted by Picasa

One Week Old

It's been 1 week since the babies were born. They are doing great and will be home sometime next week. Nothing definite yet, but possibly Monday or Tuesday. They are sleeping together in Kyra's isolete. We are very happy they are together when we can't be there with them. For Thanksgiving, Deanna and I saw them in the morning and evening. I brought them a big turkey leg, but security nurses denied my feeding attempt.
They are gaining weight and eating very well. Kyra is doing better at the breast feeding thing. I'll have a talk with my son about this situation tomorrow. Both had baths today, their first since birth. They seemed to enjoy having their head shampooed and put under the sink. New jammies and a fresh towel wrap and back to bed. And now, here is Deanna's (Mom) first message on the blog:
Hi everyone... this is new to me, and I usually talk too much, but I'll try to make this short. Thanks to everyone for all their good wishes and congratulations - it's hard being home when the babies aren't yet, but knowing that everyone is there for us really has made it a little easier. Ryan and Kyra are really doing well - they're still very tiny, but definitely strong of spirit! Dan made me give them both baths today, so it's his turn next time... that and the next few diaper changes! So far, we're looking forward to bringing them home and getting the full parenting experience... be careful what you wish for, I know!
