It's been 1 week since the babies were born. They are doing great and will be home sometime next week. Nothing definite yet, but possibly Monday or Tuesday. They are sleeping together in Kyra's isolete. We are very happy they are together when we can't be there with them. For Thanksgiving, Deanna and I saw them in the morning and evening. I brought them a big turkey leg, but security nurses denied my feeding attempt.
They are gaining weight and eating very well. Kyra is doing better at the breast feeding thing. I'll have a talk with my son about this situation tomorrow. Both had baths today, their first since birth. They seemed to enjoy having their head shampooed and put under the sink. New jammies and a fresh towel wrap and back to bed. And now, here is Deanna's (Mom) first message on the blog:
Hi everyone... this is new to me, and I usually talk too much, but I'll try to make this short. Thanks to everyone for all their good wishes and congratulations - it's hard being home when the babies aren't yet, but knowing that everyone is there for us really has made it a little easier. Ryan and Kyra are really doing well - they're still very tiny, but definitely strong of spirit! Dan made me give them both baths today, so it's his turn next time... that and the next few diaper changes! So far, we're looking forward to bringing them home and getting the full parenting experience... be careful what you wish for, I know!
