Day 6

Kyra's iv was removed today. Both doing great and eating as much as they can. Ryan is off the heat lamp as the jaundice is no longer a concern. The Doctor said it's possible they could come home on Monday. Deanna and I have alot of work to do to get ready. The nursery is pretty much ready to go. We just moved to a new house last month, so we have other things to organize, but they can wait. We're comfortable, and it will be nice not to drive the 20 miles one way to visit the babies. I am going to see them tonight and feed them. Deanna will stay home, rest and pump. That's her job for now. For my Wisconsin friends and family, the weather is awesome here. 70 degrees during the day, but it does drop to freezing at night. We have a nice fire going in the fireplace and Deanna is chatting with her best pal Lisa (now Auntie Lisa). I will post photos soon. Nana Denise helped feed today and she was so excited. Stay tuned, the ride is getting better.

Day 5

First, Happy Birthday to our niece Carly Ann Weiss. She is 8 today. Seems like yesterday she was born, so we will cherish these precious moments we have with these twins as they go by fast.

Ryan's iv was removed yesterday and he's pretty much on his own now, except for a few monitors. He does have a little jaundice, but should be fine in a few days after a quick bake under the lamp. He is eating very well from the bottle. Kyra is still on the iv, but doing great. Hopefully her iv will be removed any day now. Last night they were placed together in the isolete, and now lay as they did in utero. They are more comfortable and sleep better now.

Deanna came home today. First we went to the ranch and picked up our dog Macy. She has been hanging out with Nana and Poppa since last Wednesday. What a surprise she will have soon! Everyone is doing great, although it is hard to not have the twins here with us. We will see them again tomorrow morning. I will try and post more photos tomorrow night or the following day.

Together Again

Finally back together. Ryan has a bit of jaundice, so he's under the lamp. Kyra's fine, but still wears the glasses to protect the eyes. She is in the foreground. They put them together last night about midnight, first time since birth. They sleep better together. Also, this is the position they were in utero. Posted by Picasa

Proud Grandparents

Neil and Denise have visited with the twins and will be doing alot of babysitting duties, right Neil?
Dieter and Julie will meet the twins sometime early next year. The sooner the better, we can't wait! Posted by Picasa

Day 4

We got to hold them for the first time yesterday. Deanna will be coming home tomorrow. I will be going to visit tonight and hold them for awhile. I will let them know that the Packers are playing and I won't be able to see most of the game. I hope this won't be a common thing on Sundays and Monday nights. Oh well, it's all worth it. Both kids were taken completely off oxygen yesterday and are doing great on their own, although they still have an iv. I can't wait to see them, smell them and kiss them. As most you know the feeling, this is the best!
